The Oscar awarding bodies are getting ready for the trophy show on March 2nd with big names. The film academy has now announced a group of top-class musicians from all over the world for the 97th Academy Awards ceremony. US rapper Doja Cat, British R&B singer Raye and K-pop icon Lalisa "Lisa" Manoban from the South Korean girl group Blackpink will be on stage as "three global superstars".
The organizers also promise a "fascinating moment" with the two "Wicked" stars Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande. Lead actress Erivo and supporting actress Grande are both nominated for an Oscar for their performances in the film musical.
The Academy of Oscars has announced that US rapper Queen Latifah will be the "queen". There will also be a special performance by the famous Los Angeles choir, the Los Angeles Master Chorale.
The organizers want to break with tradition this time. There will be no live performances of the nominated songs. Instead, the songwriters should share their stories and inspirations through "personal reflections," it was announced in advance.
